My name is Caitlin and I am the chief human officer! I am very excited to present HOKU, our small business!

our story

my name is Caitlin, and my pup is a 1 year old Miniature Australian Shepherd named Hoku. I was born in China, adopted by an American couple and grew up in both San Francisco and Hawai'i. After graduating from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a B.A. in Anthropology, I am currently in a post baccalaureate program to pursue my dream of becoming an emergency room doctor!

HOKU was founded in January 2021 in the senior of my college year, a few months after getting Hoku. My mother taught me how to use a sewing machine, another skill we both share. After picking up some fabric from a local fabric store, I was ready to create for you and pet. Hoku was very patient with me as I created and made her try on many bandanas.

for our logo, the monstera represents a connection to the land and my favorite plant! two for my two fur babies, Hoku and Bender the Kitty! Purple is my favorite color!
